Although not intentional, we instantly fell in
love with the Mini 40 as soon as we saw it at
our Rover dealer in Carlisle.
It was the second one to be sold that week,
and we had to spend a few nervous moments waiting
to know if there was one available.
Strictly for limited use, we have taken it to
various shows, and driven it occasionally around
Cumbria on errands. We've even been stopped by
police doing tyre checks - its not done 2000 miles
yet. Their excuse: "We haven't seen one of these close
up before".
We are convinced it is camera shy though. Many of
the photos have not come out too well, and even the
posing shots below are poor. Maybe next year in the
summer we can persuade it to let us take a few more
shots in places a bit more scenic than our front driveway.
The interior of the mini 40 is beautiful with the
wine coloured leather looking and smelling fantastic.
The alloy dash really sets off the whole interior, and
in the dark, the amber glow of the white panelled dials
really makes it feel cosy and warm.
