The 2007 season has been a interesting one in the 1400 class seeing 4 Rallyes
contesting the class. With more Rallyes expected to enter the class next
season competion should be intense.
Running a 1294cc engine giving away up to 100cc (and 4 stone) on some of
his fellow competitors. Dave held a strong lead come the end of the season. The championship
took in 9 rounds in a variety of places including Knockhill, Three Sisters, Harewood and local
favorite Barbon Hill Climb. Dave has driven superbly to win the class. Dispite the odd moment! "Waving
to the marshals" (Duffas Dip!)
During the 2006 Season Dave brought a new 205 Rallye disributor to cure some
of the problems he was having. Whilst testing this on the dyno it was found
that the advance curve did not suite the engine. Dave asked if a mappable ignition system would solve the problems.
Despite searching the net and trade ads Dave could not find a system
suitable. At this point we decided to use an omex system with some in house
custom made parts. Including Trigger wheel, crank sensor etc and coil pack
mounting bracket. This has proven to be a good modification giving loads more bottom end power.
We are currently helping dave get ready for the 2008 season with a few more
mods. So watch this space.
Congratulations also to Ant Lomas for winning the Wigton MC Club Champion Award 2008
Who also had his 106 Rallye Tuned at Minimaster
